Edit/Add/Modify your page using FrontPage Extension
Server
How to update an webpage (using front page
extension server). You MUST have Microsoft Front Page installed in your computer.
For simplification, this instruction will help you to add/modify text in a page.
| Step 1: |
Connect to the internet first, and go to the website, and go to the page where you want to modify. |
| Step 2: |
On Menu bar, select File>Edit with Microsoft Office Front Page. |
| Step 3: |
Microsoft Front Page
program will be opened with a window asking user name and
password to access to your FTP server. Enter user name and
password (
see Basic
information) . |
| Step 4: |
After successfully connected to your FTP server, your page will appear in Microsoft FrontPage. |
| Step 5: |
If you want to see the whole structure of your website with folder and file, click on View> Folder. The left panel will show the list of files and folder in your website
(optional). |
| Step 6: |
Start modifying the page.

| Step 7: |
After modification, close file (go to File>Close). |
| Step 8: |
Check the modification on your browser: Go to internet explorer and go to the page you have modified in order to see if the modification is effective. If you did not see any change, press F5 key to refresh the system cache in your computer. You should see the change now. |
Important note:
This only apply for regular HTML pages. You
cannot do in the following kinds of pages: 1.
Page with extension .PHP, .ASP,...
2. Include html page

Import picture from
your local disk to your website directory on server:

Go to Menu bar > View > Folders so that
you can see the structure of your website. |

Select a folder you want to import your
image to, for example folder "image" on
the left panel. |

Go to Menu Bar>File> Import... > Add
file> then select picture from your
local disk. |

Click Ok to complete the operation. |

Add picture to the page

Go to Menu
bar> File> Open > then you chose the file/page you
want to put picture on. Then click OK to open the
file. |

After you
open a page, click the place you want to put a
picture, then go to menu bar>Insert>Picture>From
File> then chose folder where you put images (Step
2) and chose the picture. |

Click ok
and save and close file. |
* Tip: you can change the position of picture to
text by click on the picture> Right click> Select
Picture Property>Appearance>Chose “non” or “right”
or “left”.

How to Add a link on texts or picture
(using front page
extension server)
Some time you want to link a webpage to
another webpage. So here is how:

Select text or picture that you want to
have link. |
| Step 3: |
Right click> Hyperlink>Browse to the
page/picture you want to link to. Then click Ok,
save and close file. |
How to add a new page in your site
(using front page extension
server)

Go through step 1 to step 5 in section

| Step 2: |
Open a “template” page (must be in the SAME
level as the new page). |
| Step 3: |
Save the template page as a new page (you
name the new page for example mynewpage.htm). |

Working on mynewpage.htm:
add texts, pictures, links,… |
| Step 5: |
Close the page. |
How to include page feature to update menu
navigation

Open menu.htm (see details in
basic information) and
edit. |
| Step 3: |
Save the file. |
| Step 4 |
Go to menu bar >Tool> Recalculate Hyperlink.
Then all pages that use menu.htm will be updated. |
